nVIDIA GeForce 325.71 WHQL

They are legit, but from what people around the net are saying they are an older driver version than 320.49, apparently these are for Windows 8.1, you can download them from Microsoft.

Still worth benching using various tests and comparing to other drivers for, stability, performance and smoothness. It is an older driver but there a newer branch, this does not mean that they are automatically rubbish. It means that they should be tested on various systems and results posted. People can also get different results as no setup is the same. Ive yet to bench and game test these but will do against other recent drivers and post my findings over at Guru3d.

Something does not look right here.

Like what Kaapstad? So because there not from the official Nvidia site for the time being does that mean that i have posted something malicious? Kaapstad ive been surfing Ocuk for around a good 7-8 years, which is probably more than yourself. Just because i dont spam the forums with the usual drivel hence a high post count in a short amount of time, does not mean i would post links that are malicious or different to how they are described in the original description.

Nobody is saying they are rubbish. I just like to know whats changed and what these newer branch brings.

If I have read everything on it correctly... 325.71 are a WHQL driver that was being put together for Windows 8.1 and are newer than 320.18, however 320.49 beta (the knee jerk reaction to the 320.18 issues) are newer still (but a beta).

Basically these have been in development and WHQL testing since before 320.49, the numbering system is out of whack because 320.49 is an updated/fixed version of an older driver, but newer, if that makes any sense.

Like they don't come up when I do a search on the official NVidia website for any drivers for my cards. With all this talk about driver problems, it is probably a good idea to get your NVidia drivers from well NVidia.

I don't believe I mentioned the word malicious either. What I did see in your OP was one of these :D. If I see drivers with a strange number and a :D in the post, it will make me think twice.

All tests done with a single 690 and a 930 clocked at 4.4ghz HT On.

Even though the 320.49 scores slightly higher in these tests the 325.17 seems a tad smoother on my system so im sticking with the 325.17. Other users over at Guru3D have also reported smoother peformance in gaming compared to the 320.49.

If you dont know how to install these then this is how you do it....
Go to device manager and right click on GPU once you have uninstalled the previous driver then...

Update driver>Browse>Let me pick>Have disk> point to folder> Choose nv_dispi.inf.

If you're running Windows 8 you need to disable driver enforcement.

^^ I'd wait for the proper R325 releases should be a decent improvement in stability and smoothness over the R320 branch.

Just to clarify ... were the 320.18 causing issues on all cards or just one model ?

I was going to install 314.22 when my new bits arrive, but I just last minute changed my plans and ordered a 770 instead of the 670, which appears is only supported by the newer "official" drivers.

As you have ordered the 770, install the new beta's 320.49 :)

Or try the 320.18 (guru3d didn't find issues with a 770 on review with those) and wait for the next whql.
Having said that, as I will be doing a clean install with win8, perhaps MS will put 325's on :p
