Nvidia Geforce 7600GT artifact problem

Hi all

I am currently having problems with my 7600gt, which i bought off a m8. Everytime i run a game, i get artifacts, and some errors. I'm not sure if its gfx card related or game info probs. I was playing LOTR earlier and my monitor lost connection with the card even tho its plugged in, just flashing orange non green, so i had to hit the reset button and now all seems fine.

I originally had extreme artifacts in LOTR so I changed some settings in LOTR so everything is the same as how my mate had it but now i've lost the extreme artifact, and am getting an artifact at my mouse pointer but cant take a screeny to show it.

I posted about the same problem on the .COM forum, and as a result did a ATI Tool test for 3hrs30 mins, i cant understand how taking it from my mates house to mine it messes up. I was thinking maybe PSU, or because the PCI-E slot only runs at x4 instead of x16 any ideas?

Thnx

480w ColorIT PSU <<<
you meed to check the 12v rail rating on this it could be
the cause of all this easily i think you mean colorsit 480w which is indeed
a very cheap psu all fingers of blame are pointing at this imo.

7600GT Artifact problem

Hi thanks for your response, i have checked the rails and they seem urf...

Tell me what u think of them:

VCORE 1.26
3.3v = 3.31
5v = 5v
+12v = 10.76

And what would u recommend ditching it and buying a new? was thinking of the corsair 520w.

10.7 on the 12 Volt rail looks very low, what is the current rating on this output.

Also what driver rvision are you running?

when you put this 7600 into your pc did you actually uninstall your old graphics card drivers and do a full driver clean first? (or to be extra safe a full format) because if you didn't...that won't be helping either

but I agree that the PSU sucks and your 12v is REALLY low

Artifact Problem

The windows was a fresh install, drivers were used as the new 94.24's which i removed using cab cleaner then put the 93.71's on. The reason for this i thought it was a driver problem, and after speaking to my mate he said he always used the 93.71's. So because prior to putting it in my rig it worked fine on his i thought it be best to go too his driver.

The rating on this output? havent a clue...

You'll find the 12v amperage on the sticker thats on the side of the PSU, but ColourIT are el-cheapo's like your Q-Tec's, so not very good at all.

Thnx for the responses guys, gonna switch back to my 7600GS which never had a prob, and see what happens. Plus i dont think it uses as much juice.
