I've had this Graphics card for about 2 years and it's been fine until recently.
About 2 weeks ago my pc kept powering off randomly, I opened it up, and tried the usual process, testing each component to find the problem, it took me longer than i'd like to admit, I reapplied thermal paste to the CPU and graphics card, completely dusted the computer to make sure it was clean, but I eventually realized that my PSU's fan wasn't spinning, which caused it to shut down due to overheating, fans wear out and I'd had the PSU for 5+ years so it was expected. -this was a 500W PSU
Now before this PSU was replaced and I'd played a game, Warframe and Final Fantasy 14 ARR, my graphics card would be fine, the fan spun more the hotter the graphics card got which is what it should do. however
I got a new PSU, a 550W, and installed it into my computer, and since then whenever I play a game, after about 3 hours the fan on the graphics card is going full speed, if I try to put the computer into sleep it wakes itself up, I've closed all programs so that the computer it sitting idle and left the computer for 5 hours and the fan was still at full speed, I put my hand near the graphics card and it was cool.
I've tried running MSI Afterburner to control the fan but this doesn't work. I've tried google but can only find issues where people's fans won't spin and I have the opposite problem where it won't stop.
Does anyone have an ideas what's wrong our any ideas what I can do?
