**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

Given the PC specs in the sig, and the fact ideally I'd like to game at 4k - will a couple of 1080Ti's in SLI be limited by the rest of the ageing spec? Would I be better waiting until I am I in a position to upgrade the whole rig?

Same, waiting for these to show up on OCUK.

Seems a bit of a slimy move from Nvidia imo; they know by doing this they'll be taking a large slice of the pie away from their retail and AIB partners.

Large? I'd bet money that orders direct will make up a very tiny percentage of actual GTX1080Ti cards sold post release. Also there is no confirmation that people ordering direct will get their cards any sooner. I'd be shocked if the board partners or retailers really mind that much tbh, brand and in some cases retailer loyalty is a powerful thing.

if you are looking to game at 60fps i dont see why
if you can run the game at 60fps now at 1080p, the 4k bit shouldnt matter so much to the cpu..

guys, honestly though is there anyone thinking that a 1080ti is a worthy upgrade from the 1080?

put aside the bragging rights the itch and the enthusiasts who will no doubt get the 1080ti for those reasons, the average Joe who owns a 1080, will he get the 1080ti, I mean at most it will be between 20-50 fps increase or maybe a bit more, nothing that the naked eye can differentiate, so will you sell your 1080 at a loss add another 250-300 quid and get your prize?

You could make this argument for every GPU release each year. People are happy to upgrade for an extra 20/30 fps. The market shows that. The 1080 Ti is a nice step up from the 1080 in spec and apparently 30% extra performance, it's coming in at same price too, 'GTX 1080's were ~ £700 like 2 days ago, Nvidia has pre order for 1080 Ti at £699. So really 1080 Ti is an obvious upgrade for green team fans, (Especially those that sold their 1080's at the right time (; ) feel sorry for Titan X owners getting usurped once more, but then they have more money than sense anyway so I guess it doesn't matter xD

its normally a sidegrade in terms of power usage though especially if you are on air. I'll wait to see what vega etc brings.

Never realised that there was a step up program by EVGA for my 1080 FTW to ICX cooler, just found out and I had missed it by 2 days, contacted them so I could do a double step up but no luck. Guess I'll stick with my 1080 then :P
