Reading up on pascal and the lack of a bios editor is making me think twice about grabbing a reference card to block. At least with maxwell and Kepler you could flash the bios and get some extra performance. I'm quite surprised there aren't any modded bios's on pascal.
I've pre-ordered 2. I've been buying 2 since the Kepler 680. I currently own 2 1080s and I feel that 2 1080 Tis will allow me to max out any game at 4K. This is not currently possible with 2 1080s.
Where SLI is not supported, 1 1080 Ti will do the job (RE7, CoD IW).
So, in my opinion, if you have the cash, 2 Tis are well worth it.
are you buying your 1080ti's from the american nvidia site? they are not selling them on the uk site from what I can see.
you know ive just installed ghost recon wildlands and its not playable in sli, low performance lag and stuttering and with everything maxed i only get 20fps on a 1440p gsync monitor, so ive disable SLI and wow, im going more than 70fps on extreme max settings, full AA HBOA and the new nvidia grass setting, the same with fallout for, useless on sli, but the games like gtav and primal, sli just destroys the fps, so its 50/50 with sli these days, im considering one 1080ti to start with and see how that goes, I cant stand 4k without GSync so im stuck on 1440p for now until the HDR 4k Gsync monitors come out, and still a single 1080ti might struggle on those super monitors.....
i'm sure there was some one who modded the bios and managed to give it a voltage boost. It was then they realised there was either at driver level or hardware level a cap on the voltage regulation. As it would not go above a certain point. They are all unfortunately bios locked, or at least there is no bios tool to edit them yet. And anyway all cards including AIB boards overclock and run at pretty much the same speed regardless.

Eagerly awaiting the EVGA FTW3.
well since I've got my mod 2 bike test booked as I'm an A2 rider wanna get off the restrictor and have a holiday in June my 980 Ti will have to last till next gen of cards the next X80 card should be around 2 x the performance of my 980 Ti in which case I'll upgrade then (y)
Took my restrictors out about 2 years ago, still need to get around to doing my A1 though. Probably next few months in the summer.
980Ti is still a decent card, Volta will be a while away yet. The 1080Ti won't be that far off double the performance mate.
