I'm almost certain they will release it this year. They would be mad not to "make hay while the sun shines". I. E. AMD having no competition out. Why would they wait until AMD have (potential) competition to release.

wccftech, so I wouldn't take it too serious but part of me wants a Ti but part of me wants to wait for Volta.

how far is volta away from 1080ti?

If volta does release it WONT be a full fat Volta, it could be somthing like 1170/1180 on volta based cards that are only 10/20% behind the 1080ti

Abit like 980ti 20% in performance behind 1080, no?

Then It may be better to stick with the 1080 or 1080ti until full fat volta gets released...damn people like me just paid up to £700 for their 1080s and now this.

Such is the way of this game.
At least you don't have to think of it as "£700" a year to stay current. Because your 1080 still has value. A lot of value. So realistically your only going to be paying maybe £300 or £400 a year to stay current. Or £30 a month to game at the top end. Pound a day.

At least that's the way I convince myself with these mad prices it still worth it..... Just...

Just enjoy your card mate.

Because they dont have volta till 2018? If you release all your cards now you have no new cards to release next year.

People always buy new whether they are quicker or not. ;)
