**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

It doesn't really matter if Vega ends up a bit faster; very few will upgrade unless the upgrade yields more than a few fps. Nvidia had the cards ready and launched making whatever AMD has lined up with Vega moot (by the time Vega is released a lot of people will already have moved to GTX 1080s and 1080 Tis). So the high-end market has already been saturated by nvidia, but I'm guessing a lot of people with cards <= GTX 980Ti/1070 would love a GTX 1080 equivalent for around $300.

I am holding out to do an all AMD build from what I have. The 1700 is already comparable price wise to what it cost me for the CPU, Mobo & RAM back in July 2014. And I spent £500 780Ti 3GBand then step-up to the 980 6GB 85 days later for free. So if I can get the equivalent AMD card that rivals the 1080 for similar price I will do that.

I am aware that at least another 6 people I game with are also doing similar so there is still market space to have them bring out Vega and not be moot.

Can anyone confirm that it wont void warranty to fit a water block to EVGA 1080ti FE ?

it is covered in EVGA's warranty for aftermarket cooler install. As long as the card itself is not damaged by means of install and is returned in original condition.

Quoted from the below warranty.
  • The product must be returned to EVGA in the original factory configuration and condition. All aftermarket modification must be reversed before sending in the product for replacement.

For balance I would like to say a big thanks to the OCUK peeps for working late on Friday in order to get my card to me so quickly and to DPD for a very slick delivery pre-10am on the Saturday.

I would also like to say that Nvidia really have smashed it out of the park with this GPU, the only thing I would say is that if you are on air, my previous recommendation of waiting still holds. The air-cooler on the FE has all the caveats the 1080 cooler and Titan cooler have.

What about liquid then? Well, we only have a 120% power-limit and no voltage boost at the moment but its already knocking on the door of the best Titan's here. I would say that the card is stronger in actual games than it is in the synthetics.

Out of interest, how does the FE cooler do at roughly 80%? Much throttling?? I think this is the loudest I could stand tbh (had a 1080 Reference before). Thanks.

This is great to here! I'm back home on Thursday and can't wait to get mine under water.

I am not the best person to ask. Air cooler temps not really a problem for me as I run with an open case near a window. I think at stock the reviews say that the cooler just about keeps the card from throttling but I would imagine many reviews done in an air-conditioned room with great electronic temperature control.

Considering I saw a video earlier of a gtx 970 at 1080p running the same frames as a 1080Ti at 4K. I think your in for a very nice upgrade ;)

Good to hear, got a couple of Samsung 4k monitors which although nice (for the games I play) have been annoying as hell due to having to run HDMI on one and DP on the other.

I cancelled my OcUK Value FE order because April was mentioned as a stock date, then spotted some MSI cards in stock this afternoon. Ordered one and it's shipped for delivery to work tomorrow!!!

Except I've just remembered I have a day off tomorrow. FML.

Looks like we got the same batch of cards. I got an alert it was in stock and bagged one asap, refreshed the page and it went from 5 to 2 so they were going quick.
