**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

I'm way too scared to try anything like that.

I'm also an ex electronics engineer used to soldering complex head so I'd be able to do it easy enough but then I wonder if I need the extra performance vs potentially screwing the card.

There are not that high of a risk to doing it as there is no soldering involved, just a steady hand ;) with grizzly liquid metal few brushes over the 3 resisters 10ohm and presto ;) and can be removed very easy with actone so as it does not void the warranty... though how high is your moral compass.... lots of people have done it and it does work though its up to you if you want to do it ;)

I received an email from EVGA today

Haha, I *still* didn't receive mine, thankfully I pre-ordered within minutes of release anyway since the time was pretty much advertised.

if i wasnt watercooled i would love that card

Gigabyte really stepping up with the Aorus branding soon they will be on par with ROG

Meh ROG is mostly tasteless tat/insipid bling and an excuse to shove a premium on something that isn't really that special - Gigabyte still seem to have some passion for design and doing things differently.

TDP is quite high on it

least you get extra years warranty on it :D and as you say, only ones doing a triple 100mm design within 300mm length. Think its 3 slot compared to 2.5 slot though, so hard to tell

just realised they moved one of the internal HDMI to the IO rear port

The 1080 Aorus was measured as low as 36DBA under load (open rig) so for me, the TDP is pretty irrelevant at this level of card but the dimensions will be problematic for some rigs.

Says on the OCUK product page :)

It is no mistake, just like 1080, the Zotac Extreme is the ABSOLUTE BEST 1080Ti on the market, most phases, highest boost clocks and most powerful cooling solution that is also whisper quiet! Plus the 5yr warranty, Zotac really is the no.1 one now and just like with 1080 is I was choosing a 1080Ti Zotac Extreme would be my top choice, followed closely by Aorus Extreme and Asus ROG Strix OC. None of the other cards particular get me excited, but those three do, I do like the Inno3D cards as well, but Zotac all the way.

lol The Gigabyte while a faster card I'm sure look cheap and plastic. The Asus ROG same, the shroud is cheap plastic and plain jane. Could care less for ROG brand. Everything RED needs to go away. The Zotac is nice though. Were happy with EVGA.

The Aorus Extreme is a mighty impressive card, its memory is clocked at nearly 11,500MHz and its boost clock is nearly 1750MHz, it has a 4yr warranty, out the box it should perform identical to Zotac Extreme or just pip it, but for me the Zotac has the better power phase, 16+2 vs 12+2 though in reality you don't need it, but its bragging rights yes. ;)

In short Zotac Extreme and Aorus Extreme are the two absolute best 1080Ti, they are the masterclass and Asus Strix OC and Inno3D X3/X4 are also really nice.

But for me I would always be simply looking to buy Zotac or Aorus Extreme or maybe the Strix as I do like my Asus kit. :)

Well, that's me persuaded. I was going with the Sea Hawk but now I'm gonna change my order to the Zotac instead :D

MSI have no card to compete with Aorus Extreme and Zotac Extreme, not even close. They will have to release a Lightning card to compete with those which so far there is no news or even rumours off. If that happens will probably be July or later, so pointless I'd want my 1080Ti NOW, I wanna game NOW! :D ;)

Yeah, I don't think I can wait that long >< What'd be the best way to get my order changed? I've sent a webnote but should I call you guys instead? Sorry to be a pain!
