**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

No idea what MSI have going with OcUK but this MSI Gaming X is a total beast!!!! Ramp up the clocks, it flys along, ramps up the fans and it is quiet! MSI have a peach of a card in the Gmaing X. Well worth a buy if you can get hold of one.

How does the gaming X compare against the ROG strix, amp extreme and aorus xtreme? I'm thinking of buying the gaming X but the rest have higher clock speeds

I owe Asus an apology! The coil whine is from the PSU, not the Strix.

I just took out my Corsair HX850i and ran it outside the case. It's pushing out just over 320W, but that's clearly too much for it. The GPU is fluttering a little, but I think it would be masked inside the case. I guess the 1060 that was sitting in that slot just never stressed the PSU enough for me to notice before.

Sorry Asus! And thanks for your time, sages on this thread!

(And Menta38 - I hope you find a solution to your noise as well!).

Any recommendations for a good quiet PSU?

mine has done me proud

I've settled for +50 on the core + 300 ram tried +400 but flickering in heaven briefly, can't be bothered trying 350, it's pointless at this stage. lo2jIdp.jpg VqPBGFn.jpg OdVOQpY.jpg

That is a good score for the AMP Extreme. I was going to buy one but the delays got me impatient so I went for the Sea Hawk X. I hadn't heard anything about the card so it was a gamble that paid off. It is keeping up with the best of the 1080ti's.
It is super silent and cool and I can hit +100 on the core and +765 on the memory (on auto fan) before I start to get the flickering you mentioned, which gives me a Heaven benchmark of 4109.

Hey Hoff, did you get the Sea Hawk X 1080ti here or somewhere else? I preordered that card on here 2 weeks ago before they bumped up the price, still no news.

I got it from the other place, they have been in stock there for a couple of weeks. I wanted to buy it from OCUK but the availability for the custom cards were non existent at the time.
