**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

Yeah sadly my enthusiasm for SLI and mGPU in general has been somewhat reduced of late :(

Unfortunately advanced use of DX11 and newer APIs doesn't tend to be particularly compatible with mGPU functionality.

Are you saying you know for sure these will be close to £1k?

If so, what's your source of info?

Common sense :D:D:D. On a serious note i think they will be really expensive but more £7-800 than £1000. If Vega is good i can see them replacing the gtx1080 price point. To many variables atm to get in a price. The ti usually comes in at a higher launch price than the standard 80 as happened with the 780 at $500 and the ti at $700. Gtx980 at $550 and gtx980ti at $650. If this keeps up then expect around £100 to £200 on top of the gtx 1080 release price.

You do realize that as we go through leaving the EU the pound is forecast to become almost parity with the the dollar? I cant see us getting back to the rate of $1.45 to pound for a decade or so.
It's basically almost been at parity already, so i can't see it being any lower than that tbh.. In fact forecasts have been the opposite, that it will become better. Not straight away obviously.

Have absolutely no source info . I make up facts whilst working to support my family at work :)

Haha, jokes aside all I said is they will be leaked out soon, theirs always one employee or source that can get it out .

We were having a guess at prices and was depressing for reasons of A, its nvidia, B it will be the founders edition that happened for 1080 so rest will be a while , and C resellers and bump up the price, D the falling pound.

I do love the way I can mention when an AMD I'll drop and nothing. twice I've mentioned Nvidia recently and flames erupt around me haha.

For me, I need these cards out so I can build and sell them :)

And why the hell would I state a source. Haha. I don't expect anyone to believe me at all, its just fun :)

Ite never got anywhere near parity. $1.21 is the lowest I have seen. If you mean by the time you add the VAT back on here its parity then yes. I am talking about it getting close to $1:£1 so in sterling the UK price would be the dollar price PLUS 20%.

Of course what is keeping the pound up at the moment is Trump. If he keeps doing stupid things the pound will stay up.

Last forecasts I saw was that the pound would rise only if the Lords force some amendments on Brexit. If not it will slowly decline.

I think we all know when it cones out its going to be expensive, and that buyers will buy it. Flagships always are. Rather have price wars mid range personally , that way margins stay high with flagships haha

At the moment no one knows the pricing, it's just guesswork based on current pricing and previous launches when the £/$ rate was far, far different than what it is now.

The 1080ti is like Schrodingers card. It's coming. We all know it's coming but at the same time it's not, because nothing has been announced yet.

Personally my guesswork will mean a MINIMUM £799 for the FE edition, more likely £899 and people will buy it, justifying NV's price gouging once again.

I IMPLORE anyone who is going to buy, either wait until we see proper Vega benchmarks in the (possibly vain) hopes that it gives NV pause for thought, or DON'T buy the launch FE editions and wait for proper AIB cards.

Unfortunately there are many who just want the best whether they need it or not and don't care. If the card somehow is better than a titan xp, even by as little as 20%, people will sell and buy the new card :P

Yeah, it's a shame but people will moan about the prices just like every other time, but still buy it anyway. I'll grab an aftermarket version.

Yep. Going to wait for Vega myself as I want to go down the Freesync 2 route. But unless Vega is very well priced like Ryzen, I will just wait until 2018. Grabbing a Nintendo Switch on release which will keep me happy this year.

I wonder when we will be seeing these Freesync 2 monitors. Probably by the end of the year at the earliest by the looks of it.
