Considering no price drops from ATI side, I'd say the prices of the cheaper model are spot on. It does compete with Radeon 5830 performance and price-wise, and may soon become an instant winner. However, the price of the more expensive model, which is about 8% faster than the one with less memory, is horrible being £30 extra. It should be no more than £20 difference between the two IMO.

im confused is this better than a 465,because ive seen some places selling the 465 for the same price as this 460 1 gig version?.

Yes, GeForce 460 1GB is a relatively better choice between these two. I would wait for the prices to drop a little before purchasing one TBH.

The 460 seems to beat the 5850 in a few areas for a cheaper cost.
The green team is back on top in this price bracket!

Looks like the new cards deal well enough with the tessellation on. TechPowerUp review benches with DirectX 10 effects.

Hm, £73 cheaper than the cheapest GTX 465 on OCuk, quite a considerable difference considering the performance isn't massively different.

GeForce GTX 460 1GB is even faster than 465 and costs over £40 less. It may be a bit slower in heavily tessellated tasks but that's about it. It's a win-win gaming wise, however you have to bear in mind that Radeon 5850 was £190 at launch. The price has to go down a notch, otherwise the less expensive version will be an obvious choice.

The 768mb version has 3/4 of the memory bandwidth of the 1gb version, the 1gb is ahead in almost all games i think. (your link only shows 768mb versions)

Going by the Anandtech review that's quite a cool running card for Nvidia. Power consumption is pretty good too. Unusual to see now reference coolers at launch too.
