They'll price them to whatever they can sell them at, and with the minor performance difference between this and the new card they'll sell at this price.

I bagged an end of life GTX480 as a bargain from another retailer last summer, the 500 series cards and now the 600 end of life stuff has not been so reduced, as ever I will wait it out until I am happy I have a bargain.

Its simple, if people buy then demand will keep the prices up, if you don't, they will drop, it not like petrol or diesel, you have a good deal of choice.

On a side note, the current this week only Gigabyte WF3 2Gb 770 is quite a steal if you want to spend over £300!

The problem is that despite we call the 600 series EOL, and the 700 series being "new gen", the truth is the move from the 600 series to 700 series (660Ti to 760, 670 to 770) with the small improvement feel more like 9800GTX to 9800GTX+, GTX260 192 to GTX260 216, GTX280 to GTX285 kinda replacements. The whole "new gen" thing really serve more as a marketing move more than anything else.

Pretty much hits the nail on the head, this is the opening line from the Hexus GTX 760 review:

"Those folk over at Nvidia sure know how to wring the most out of a particular graphics processing unit."

If they wanted to stick with the old naming system the 780 could pretty much be the GTX 685 and so on, 600 series to 700 series really isn't a 'new generation' if you ask me.

I miss the days when Gibbo used to be able to get EOL products in at bargain basement prices. Like that ole 5850 saga a while ago and those 480s. I fear the man has peaked too soon and has nothing left. :p

If the deals are not being offered, they are not there. So many companies going bust most have got a lot better with their stock control and no one is so willing to sell out a loss any more in order to gain revenue.

Though I shall remind you that OcUK was first on the 680, 670 and 660ti price drops, so if I have nothing left, my competitors must be in wooden boxes. :D

What's going on here OCUK?

I thought these prices were here to stay? I guess not????

Some of the 660Ti seem to have gone up (MSI & KFA), I've put them back down to match this thread.

670's are now nearly sold out, hence prices increased on what is remaining to help reduce our losses on them. Which is just business sense, why sell them at £20 loss per card if we can still sell out at just £10 loss per card. When loosing money we have to make the best business decision, especially when the stock will still sell and it won't be replenished.

I was mega happy that I could get my gtx 660ti (for sli) at the reduced price.
It just had to be snapped up as the value was great.

Now the games can be at max settings with good fps, looks awesome.
