**Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti Review Thread**

Are the temperatures bad enough to avoid getting a reference cooler if I'm just going for a single card? There seems to be no negative to the MSI TwinFrozr right now. Decent factory OC, good cooler and one of the cheapest. Am I missing something?

All that hype got me worked up for nothing, bought before 2pm when they first appeared here and still no signs of getting it anytime soon

What makes it more annoying is PassMark updated there benchmarks and you can see our 980 Ti sitting nicely at the very top: :(

Passmark is probably one of the worst pieces of software you can use, especially for predicting gaming performance. Just look where the 290x is relative to the standard 780.

You won't be able to tell the difference between a 980ti and a TX in game but don't kid yourself that the 980ti is better than the TX when both are clocked the same.

OOoh nice. How are you finding sli in terms of noise? Be interested in seeing a vid of them running a game to try and get an impression of it.

Just a smidgen louder than the GTX 580 I replaced them with. Not really an issue at all for me.

Also if Gregster can give me the MSI Afterburner settings he used to record with I'll do that. I tried earlier and the video was a laggy mess, and just starting the recording knocked over 10fps off.

Meant more like a phone video so i can hear what the cards are like in game. :D

I've always found recording noise of the cards doesn't give an accurate impression. If you place the phone near your head where you sit it never seems to pick up the sound, if you place it near the PC it picks it up and makes it sound a lot louder than what it does to your ears.

Hmm that is true, for instance I can never hear the PC over my mic noise cancellation tech and all that.

cpl of questions...

im running 2 x 280x's crossfire. will i see more performance upgrading to a 980ti... always had AMD and crossfire has been hit and miss with games, is sli any better? And last, will 2 x 980ti's be enough for the oculus rift CV1 when its released.

Single 980Ti is better than 970 SLI so it will definitely be better than 280X crossfire. Your minimums will be infinitely better too so it will also be a lot smoother in general.

Minimums over 100% better than 7990

980ti if overclocked is the similar to two 970 in SLI but not overclocked. Better yes 6GB memory and just a single card no SLI issues.
