If Nvidia left consumer GPU's you could see AMD and Intel ending up encouraging either all AMD or all Intel systems and making it less attractive to mix and match.

Agreed, the more competition the better. One reason I'm hoping dedicated AI hardware appears soon so GPUs can go back to just being produced for gaming.

Yes, It would. I wish desktop GPUs could be as small as laptop GPUs, with no performance hit. I want to beable to build a killer PC in a small case the size of a NES.

There isn't any rule that private companies have to stay around if their owners don't want them to.

Other than the fact their gpu's are garbage and they don't care? Had one once never again. Psu's are decent or they were but then they're not the OEM.
