Hi all,

hp P201 20-inch and BenQ TL550

Quick bit of advice please, we have a number of rooms at work with this setup:
hp 20" monitor (1600 x 900) and a touch screen wall mounted 55" full HD TV/monitor.
We are finding that the USB driving the touchscreen is causing a lot of 'noise' when we connect up with analogue signal leads (SVGA) and analogue audio leads (3.25mm jack)
Whining is noticed from the speakers and this noise is also de-stabilising image on the TV.
To find a solution to this problem I have ordered a few low profile GT 610 VGA cards passively cooled from ASUS. These appear to be working well.
I have set these cards to drive the monitor with the DVI lead and the TV with HDMI utilising the digital audio, as we have external speakers also for these units.
I have cloned the two displays through the NVidia control panel, as the staff prefer this in the classroom environment, as opposed to extending the desktop.
My question is this, is this the best setup? Also my understanding is, with cloning the displays, it is just that! The monitor at its native resolution, and the TV being up scaled to 1080p.
I have to say the visual quality and definition on the TV is outstanding, how close is this to a true HD image?
Any help as usual is appreciated!

bare minimum HD is 1280x720, so you're currently between that and 1080p.

The 1600x900 you're outputting to the 1080p screen is not the same aspect ratio so there might be some minor distortion (if it's not major they won't notice).

Extended mode would be ideal, but I work in a school and know that trying to teach these people can be tiresome.
