Nvidia GT200 55nm GDDR5 Before Xmas ?

well 512 bit with ddr5 should be insane bandwidth, but power consumption would be to big to i think they making modification to core to 256 bit

I'd agree that surely 512bit bus would be complete overkill and would increase production costs...but yes a pinch of salt may be needed.

the card simply wouldn't use almost double the bandwidth it has now so it would be pointless and it wouldn't really help them drop the production costs. The size decrease from 65 to 55nm isn't actually that big and even a perfect scaling down it will still be a far larger core than the AMD core, they might get a little closer in size if they drop the 512mbit bus which might make the gddr5 useful. But slightly higher clocks aren't really going to help them much, its a lot of cost for a card that will be replaced early spring, or at least be competing against a new AMD card in early spring.

Its certainly possible/probably we'll see smaller versions, but I'm not expecting any major performance increase. THe bandwidth might help in some ultra high end benchmarks, but rarely in gaming at any levels we'll use.

how about 384bit +DDR5? Cheaper production costs and would whoop ATI's offering's. Too much speculation and not enough facts:D.

I don't think they need DDR5 to be honest, their bandwidth is plenty all the way up to 2560x1600. They need to work on power consumption and shader performance. Maybe bump the DDR3 speed a little. Apart from that the memory is fine.
