Alrighty then, i am finally ready to purchase GTX 680 since custom cooled are rolling out this week. After having 580 stock, i'd never buy it again. So the big question is, and hopefully its not just me in this position:

Which custom cooled gtx 680 is the best? Price, cooling fan and mosfet cooling, OC, etc.

Real contenders so far:

Palit GeForce GTX 680 JetStream Edition @ 1085 Core / 1575 Memory (1150 Boost)

MSI GTX 680 Twin Frozr III @ 1058 Core / 1502 Memory (1124 Boost)

ZOTAC GeForce GTX 680 Extreme Edition @ 1202 Core / 1502 Memory (1202 Boost)

Out of 3, i am leaning towards MSI, having said that, its a stock PCB with a frozr fan slapped on it, which is a downside. Jetstream looks tacky, and doesnt provide sufficient cooling. Zotac looks a beast but will probably cost few more coins than the rest :D

Any suggestions, or input is apreciated :)

I'm in the same boat and am waiting till may, by then, a lot more custom cards will be out and further price drops.

i'd wait if i were you...you won't regret it

I'm looking for the same thing (Heres to hoping theyre ~£400 in a few weeks)
After using the MSI TF2 for over a year on a 580, I'd be happy to go with a TF3 680.

The Gigabyte Windforce x3 looks like a good cooler so I might hold out for that.

yeah it does, a hopeful price drop soon, plus the 10% discount ocuk are offering via their FB page....good deal!!!

in reviews the Palit out performs and out cools the other two.

Palit did a number of things that make the card a good chunk more interesting opposed to the reference model. The cooling works out well, Palit used the three fan -- three slot design to make the card silent. As such in it's default state under game stress it can still reach 75 Degrees C -- but it remains 100% silent. We measured a 39 DBa noise level in the test room at 75 CM distance from the card. That is near silent.

Once you play around with fan RPM a bit manually, then you'll get a good impression of how much cooling capacity the card really has. At 65% RPM you can hear the card at a normal graphics card noise level; but at that stage your GPU stress temps will sit below 50 Degrees C, and that's just impressive. This will give you a little more headroom once you start to tweak with the card.

reference is pretty cool according to reviews.

Atm from what I'm reading on the evga forums there doesn't seem to be much reason to choose a card with a custom pcb with extra power phase or extra power delivery (8+6 or 8+8 classy).

As for the cooler, I read a good review for the jetstream a while back. But I'm looking at water so not very clued up.

Just to let people know. When my fan on my reference EVGA is maxed out, it is noisy but temps have never gone over 61C and this is while testing my max OC on the card running heaven.

No need to run it at full.

What would be interesting to see is if they make the volts adjustable...this would be good.

Hi Guys

Windheaven, what is the :-

"yeah it does, a hopeful price drop soon, plus the 10% discount ocuk are offering via their FB page....good deal!!!"

Whats the FB page?

just signed up for that. Thanks for the heads up! :D
*mumbles to self* right ocuk should drop prices on 680s soon, then ill use the %10 discount code* EVIL LAUGH! :D

Not wanting to dampen anyone's spirits, but the 10% discount offer was on the condition that you emailed the address within 48 hours of the 10,000 likes being achieved, meaning a cut-off of some time on sunday.

Hopefully didn't miss it myself. >.<

omg.. surely Gibbo can make an exception in our case. Didn't even know OCuK FB existed, let alone 10% discount :p fingers crossed.

Zotac is a very tasty card, however i am fearing that price for it, will be somewhat of a stale bread, no, not cheap, not for my teeth :D

iv had way too many zotac cards fail on me to jump into that pool again :(

when they work they work but i had over 5 some from different generations that just had problems after problems from fan failing to chip just failing :(

maybe they are different now but i aint risking it...im evga all the way because of warranty... (just my opinion)
