Nvidia GTX 980 Owners Thread

I have now, but I always seem to have the display port sleep issue.

Have you seen THIS???

Might be worth a try

"I came across a user suggesting to plug in both HDMI-HDMI and Displayport-Displayport. I did this and it seemed that the Displayports were not working, ran PC through HDMI for a couple of days.
I realized after booting to UEFI BIOS that the BIOS was running through Displayport. So I booted into Windows and the same problem as you, screen goes black at Windows Login, but I could switch to HDMI and there was the Login screen. Got into the Nvidia Control Panel went to "Set Up Multiple Displays" and HDMI was set as 1st Monitor, DP was 2nd. I then switched them (DP: 1st; HDMI: 2nd) and rebooted. Now there were no problems DP worked as supposed, then I deactivated the HDMI:2nd screen and unplugged the HDMI cable. Been running DP for a week everything is good!

I've joined the 980 club today, well happy :D

I have 2 Asus Poseidons in SLi great cards. (But coming from Ati 5850 that were 5 years old I would say that)
But I have a question.
How do I shut the 2 power LEDS off that are on all the time above the power connection.
I only want to be able to turn them off when pc is off.
I have figured out how to turn off the breathing Republic of Gaming, but these lights have stumped me.
Thanks

If the LED is on the PCB chances are you can't turn it off. You'd need to turn the power off either on the back of the PSU or at the wall.

got 3 x galax SOC GTX980's,

but need help trying to cool these bad boys at the minuet they when i have all 3 in and playing a game the shoot up to 90-95 degrees and start to down clock
i have tried spacing them out in my case as much as i can and they still do the same thing, the case i am currently using is the corsair 750d, i don't really want to water cool them as its not really in my budget, could anyone give me some advice on a effective way off cooling them

sorted my issue now after trying to sort it for a while and debating weather to get water or not bought a $8 bracket of ebay where i can mount 2 92mm fans on it and instally dropped my temps to a respectable 75-80 degrees and it doesnt downclock now in games will run firestrike to see what score i get tomorrow

New 980 reference owner here.......wow at the sheer weight of it and quality

Am i right in thinking that the OC'ing of these is a bit different in that i can simply bump the power to 125% and give it a hefty core/mem oc and let it fill its boots?

If so, i am seeing +200 and +500 with absolutely no issues at all

Temps clipping ~88 though so is underclocking a good option?

88c is a bit high. I wouldnt be comfortable running that for everyday use & gaming. Have you upped your fan curves?

I bought a full cover block for my first Gigabyte G1 Gaming, and am now trying to source a block for my 2nd card. Unfortunately, OCUK appear to have decided not to stock these blocks any longer?

Any ideas where I could source one from, other than EK direct? Are we allowed to share info on products that OCUK don't stock?

Strangely, OCUK won't sell this full cover block but do still sell the back plate.
