Nvidia GTX295 Information

I repeat, if it remotely resembles that pic, how the heck are you going to fit a water block to it?

Is this the first time you've had a two graphics cards sandwiched together? Because I'm sure I've seen a waterblock that had copper both sides and the water in the middle - I did wonder what it was for a minute.

If you have any recent top end card then this is not worth buying if your coming from older cards then this along with the X2 are the cards to be looking at for top end performance. Why the hell do we always get dragged into this pathetic "my driver is better then yours" argument that is a complete load of bs as neither company makes perfect drivers and they never have done.

Hmm...I guess I can live with my 3870X2 for a few more months :p

Hopefully by summer time next year the prices should be reasonable :)

it won't be available by summer, the 40nm parts are due in april/may(maybe june-july) so they have no reason at all to make this in mass quantity or to keep it in the channel for long. It will never ever be good value, at launch it will be incredibly expensive and a few months at best from having a single core using less power, creating less heat and being almost as fast.

Simply if this card was out on time, 3 months ago maybe it "might" be worth it, as if it was available 3 months ago they'd not have screwed up 55nm and it would be cheap. Now it will be expensive and on top for such a short time its not worth it. SEriously buy 2x 260's if you want, or 2x280's, buying this is just stupid frankly.

A. Those benchies are totally wrong, made up bragmongering dribble. We've all seen this rubbish before, it hooks the no-brainers - but to us who know, its like ell fishing with a tennis court net.. Hopeless, it just doesn't wash.

B. What a totally stupid time if the year to announce details of their new card?!?

I just want to say that after having both the latest ATI and nvidia cards that I can confirm the nVidia driver package is the better package. The cards themselves perform the same in games but the nVidia driver has less bugs that I have noticed.

So that is that then.

Apparently the 9800gx2 is the same sort of design and someone posted earlier that there was a water block available for that, so I went loking and yeah there is, but they seem horrendously expensive and the ones I saw looked like they were 100% aluminium. On top of the price of the card a water cooled solution is going to be for the money no object candidates only. And there is also of course no way to fit a single water block like a dtek gx2. I think I will be waiting for the next single card solution after this.

On your system only, drivers perform better/worse depending on many factors of your system.

Flame wars back on again :D

l on my system I had no stability issues or anything, the issues I found were known bugs in the ATI driver package (fan control when left on auto and the 1 pixel border on videos are the 2 main ones)

The EK 9800GX2 block is copper, very expensive and no won't fit the 295.
