Nvidia GTX295 Information

I think it looks a great card, at the end of the day it's going to be pretty fast and it's just plug's into a single slot, whats not to like really?

Wait till you see the price

Well fast cards have always been expensive, your never going to get top trumps performance for little money, but if you were buying a new PC, it's probably going to work out cheaper buying this, than a SLI Mobo and 2 x 260s

As to if it's worth the premium over a 4870 X2 thats another story, and time will tell, but if you specifically want 260s in SLI this seems like a good 1 stop shop card for your needs

And if you don't have a SLI mobo and want a cost not an issue, really fast single slot card, this looks like a good choice there too, it really all comes down to what you want from a card, and what's important to you performance?, price? longevity? brand?, everyones going to have differant criteria

Personally i think this looks a fine card for someone wanting an simple plug in SLI solution, the 200 series have proved good overclockers and i see some good gains being made on this card in that respect aswell

Well it's taken them this long to respond. Will be interesting to see what ATI now!

Edit: Actually, most of the time it doesnt do much better than the 4870X2! Certainly not as good as the Nvidia "Benchmarks", lol! If Nvidia had brought this out sooner I would have bought it. Shame it took this long.

Hope NV do more driver work in the meantime as the 4870X2 is not that far behind at all in some of the tests.

For all the hype I was expecting an absolute monster and this looks like 2 x GTX260-216s 55nms on a single slot.

Slightly disappointed really.

Wow, that is one insane looking graphics card!!

It kinda does resemble an old VHS tape though!!!! :D

Also, doesn't support PhysX, or is it Havok that does the physics for ATI?

I just remember readong in a motherboard review that it supported CrossfireX, two cards were for graphics rendering and the other card dealt with all the physics in the game...

So they have maybe made a comparison to Nvidias Physics engine and ATI's physics engine, and just misprinted it.... I dunno I am just having a guess....

Still though, I can see these cards costing anywhere around the £550 to £650 region when they first hit the shelves... I can safely say I won't be getting one, I have never been a fan of dual GPU video cards, you are better off just geting a high powered single GPU card, and if you want then you can just buy another card at a later date and run them in SLI/Crossfilre, because I have always heard bad things about dual GPU card getting to hot....

Is anyone else disappointed that they've gone the multi-GPU route?

After my brief experience with 4870x2 and having heard about similar SLI problems (mainly poor compatibility) I'm not a big fan of Crossfire/SLI at all.

Well i think more cards going this route will result in improvements to the software support/compatability in the longer term, if more single slot cards start to go the dual GPU route with onboard Xfire/SLI then it will become a more mainstream teck, and good drivers for dual GPU boards will become a bigger priority and get better support in future
