Nvidia has another GK110 based SKU in the works

Like I said in the rumours thread,it is quite possible IMHO that another SKU will be launched with salvaged cores.

I remember reading in PCFormat many months ago about them turning a K20X into a desktop GPU and I thought then, it will never happen. I see no reason why they wouldn't do the same with these cards.

I know nothing though :)

A Titan 'mini' thats 15% faster than the 7979 for £700 instead of £900 for 25% faster?

I wanna 7979 :D

Still wouldnt buy it, im gob smacked how many people got Titans tbh lol, even at 1080p 1 screen some people have them!

The Titan didnt do nothing like the hype suggested and only really "worth" the price if you game with 3 screens.

So 8 pack was right i suppose, lets see how the 8970 does, just hope its not £600+??

:D oops......

Thats the concern isn't it?

There are a few ways to do business, low margin - high volume, high volume - low margin.

nvidia have always been very good at marketing, they have a huge fan fare following with a lot of them with all sorts of silly beliefs about their favorite brand and that of that of their competition.

As a result nvidia have been able to push out GPU's with somewhat inflated prices at very high volume.

Titan's popularity despite its price vs performance is not really that surprising.

With the amount of people buying GPU's in decline, they may well be testing the water for other strategies to keep their bottom line as it is or even for it to increase.

If their results say hugely expensive GPU's are popular enough to shift to lower volumes - higher margin and keep the bottom line that will be exactly what they will do.

so yes what we all may end up with (regardless of colour) is a GPU range pricing structure that is higher.

You can bet your life AMD are watching Titan sales just as closely as nvidia.
While AMD may always be cheaper, when a top of the line nvidia GPU costs £900 AMD will not be selling their GPU for £500 less than that as they currently do, especially if the performance is similar or better.

hate to pick you up but low margin - high volume and high volume - low margin are the same thing, you've just written them round the other way. I know what you mean though. Regardless of what Nvidia do i'm sure AMD will price their cards to make as much money as possible, simple as that. And who can blame them, they're in the **** and need to stay afloat. ideas of gaining market share at the expense of profit ie with 4*** 5*** generations is probably totally out of the window

lol... eeeehehe, two blunders in as many posts...

Yes, High Margin - Low Volume / Low Margin - High Volume.
