Hi,
Recently did a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro and when Nvidia install its drivers the HD Audio has a number '2' in front of it.
What I mean is when you click on the sound icon on the taskbar it shows this: -
(2- NVIDIA High Definition Audio). Looking in device manager its the same.
I am pretty certain its never done this before and just wondered why it was like that.
Cheers

Mine is similar, and was a fresh install from scratch from its original build as a PC in general - so its not like i've added secondary soundcard or anything ...

Then again, maybe I have ... mine is a 2400G with an APU, so would a CPU have audio built into it ? Would that count as #1, but be disabled due to there being a sound card on the motherboard ?

I think it's due to devices being detected then getting re-detected and Windows doing it automatically, my dac does this if I plug it into a different USB port, you can go into regedit and remove the number from the display name.

Yeah that would make sense. Do you happen to know how I would edit this in the registry?

Same here after installing the latest Nvidia gfx drivers, Windows even switched my sound over to the HDMI, had to switch it back to my speakers.

I think I will just leave it as I don't want to start messing about in the registry. :)
Thanks for all the input.
