Hi all,

I'm planning to build an HTPC/General Usage type PC out of some old bits.

I was planning on using an old ABit motherboard that uses an Nvidia 650i chipset and then putting an ATI Radeon 5450 graphics card in it.

Now I believe there are possible issues when using both Nvidia and AMD drivers when adding an Nvidia card (i.e. for Physx) to and AMD graphics based system?
Could/Do the same issues occur when using Nvidia chipset drivers with ATI/AMD graphics drivers?
The OS will be Windows XP.

Thanks.

Also, does anyone know where to get the 'latest' drivers for ABit motherboards these days?

nVidia chipset is entirely different to nVidia GPU stuff.

It's a chipset only and has no GPU elements so should have no issues taking an AMD card, that is assuming the rest of the platform supports it (PSU, PCI-E revision etc)

Just make sure you download and install nVidia nForce Chipset drivers and not the GPU ones :D

I have an old Abit motherboard with an nforce 6 series chipset with a HD5450 in it

I also have another one with a HD6450 in it!
