Hi all,

I know there was/is a lot of hype around ATI and the press release of the new 5*** cards, but Nvidia were having a press release the same day.

Did they actually go ahead and release information about their new cards or not?

They probably tried to, but the inner geeks in all the tech sites' reviewers/webmasters/whoever goes to the events all just wanted to have a party on the USS hornet making their efforts worthless.

Nah, just kidding, I think it was probably just a rumour.

Ok thanks for the heads up I was looking round the internet and couldnt find anything new.

Hopefully we will hear soon enough. I wish both Nvidia (eventually) and ATI (11 days is too long) would just get on release the cards so we are finally able to compare then head to head. May the most powerful rule (for at least 3 months) :)

Acer, Dell, HP, MSI and Toshiba are creating computers using AMD’s latest graphics chips. In response, Nvidia said in a statement, “The gaming world has moved to dynamic realism, which depicts actual physical movement more realistically than ever before. For example, the No. 1 PC game coming out next week is ‘Batman: Arkham Assyum,’ which takes advantage of graphics plus physics to give it extraordinary realism. Because we support GPU-accelerated physics, our $129 card that’s shipping today is faster than their new RV870 (code name for new AMD chips) that sells for $399.”

I was gonna post that but couldn't be bothered to find the link.

Yes Nvidia claim their low end cards are faster than ATi's upcoming cards, because 3 extra particles will be added to the PC version of the game after Nvidia paid the publishers to do so, these will be so badly optimised that unless you use physx hardware, it will run so disturbingly slowly then yes in that situation their crap cards will be faster. Of course, when nvidia aren't paying developers to cripple their games on purpose so they only run well on Nvidia hardware then their stuff won't come close to competiting in any sector with the new ATi cards.

I really wish people got lawyers involved and deemed all this crap like TWIMTBP as anti-competition illegal action, let the dev's make games and let the gfx card companies make better gfx cards. Letting a company pay to favour them just seems ridiculous to me.

well its either Scamidia or NScam. haha, havent decided which one i like more xD but yeah, they really are so evil, they throw there money left and right trying to get ATI down. but ati always pull something out of these sleave! thank goodness for that, haha. or us pc enthusiasts would be as bender would say, "oh well, were boned!" xD
