NVIDIA Next Generation cards - what monitor ?

Currently using a 2070 S and gaming at 2K

My son wants to build his first PC and decided i could save some cash and give him my GPU and upgrade to a 3080

Question is....is the 3080 better with 4K or 2K monitors ?

Is the 3080 going to be overkill with a 2K monitor ?

2k 144hz is gonna be where its at tbh or 4k 60hz but who knows till reviews land, thats my opinion anyway.

Not overkill for high HZ and/or RTX.

yeah this is what i'm thinking

I play games in Ultra now on a 2K 144hz monitor and get around 90-100fps.. I assume with a 3080 is will be 144fps, ultra and RTX full ON !!!

Yeah but I don't have a 240hz monitor, Only a 144

There's literally 2-3 milliseconds difference between them anyway, very little when you're already around 144 or so
