Well that's a chipset and not a motherboard, but any motherboard using it will have RAID

I found this picture with the SATA ports...would you class them as a proper onboard SATA RAID controllers?

The orange sockets are the nVidia sata sockets and will do 0,1,0+1 (although the Nv 590 should have 6 sockets). The purple two are added by gigabyte which I think is a custom SiL chip and will do 0 and 1

But would you call them orange ports as "onboard RAID controllers"?

Yes (tho the northbridge and the Gigabyte SATA chip seen in the picture are the actual RAID controllers).
