Nvidia Or ATI?

ive owned both a geforce and a radeon and in terms of top of the range engine games being played on both at the time, the ati wipes the floor with the nvidia.

I've owned both Nvidia and ATI cards, and both are good.

Which is best at can change on a monthly, if not weekly basis at times.

Asking which is best, at any time, is simply bad. Like many things, this question can only be answered by yourself through research and by taking long and hard looks at how much money is in your wallet.

ok around april time im going to be spending a hell of a lot of money on a new rig.

Whats the point of posting this now if you are building in April. Both Nvidia and Ati will have new graphics cards out and there will proabilly be some new CPUs possibly.

No point in this thread, you have just started another fanboy war.

By the way at the moment Nvidia is kicking ass, and no one can say anything about R600 and how ace its going to be becuase its not out, no one has any benchmarks for it, no in game results, no nothing. When it is released Nvidia may even have a new card out some time around then aswell so it will have the market for a very short period of time. And who knows it could be **** in DX10 and the 8series Nvidia cards could be awesome.

Merry Christmas

Get what is best at the time IceShock. If you bought a system now and could offord it then 8800 will be nice.
Cheers for the rolleyes :/

Considering all the obvious unconstructive replies to the opening post I thought Id try and save the poster from the fan bois - not my fault he cant take the hint ;)

Yellow still for the win - no one anywhere in the world can actually answer your question unless they have seen both in action...

Whatever happens your paintjob probably wont be accurate the next time you upgrade

At the end of the day i don't care if i like Nvidia more than ATi or vice versa!

If the ATi card is better than the Nvidia card for the money. I will buy it!!!!

I've owned nividia and ati. My 7600 GT is way faster than my 9700 Pro. The ati does not even support SM3, wtf is that about?

Stick with nvidia.

;)

PMSL, how old is the 9700 pro, did the Nvidia cards all them years ago support SM3.0, did they hell, 9700 pro whooped Nvidia's back then.

Thats like me saying stick with ATi, my x1800 XT 512mb is way faster than the 7600 GT, supports SM3.0 just like it, but it has better image quality, and can do AA+HDR which the poor 7600 GT can't, wtf is that about. :D

No one can see into the future and say who will be best in April, just get wichever card is then, R600 will come out, if its better than G80, then G80 refresh will come out and be better, then ATi will release a better refresh, and so the cycle continues.
