Hi,
Just bought the majority of bits for my new machine - only things I am yet to pick up is a graphics card.
After trawling the forums, I've come to the conclusion that its gonna be a 7900 or equivalent ATI card..
Only one proviso is the necessity for 2x DVI outputs.. I use a dual monitor setup for graphics and have recently delved into game production (using the XNA framework.. I'm not very good!)
I also.... (when not at work) do a bit of freelance AutoCad / Microstation / MX / 3D Studio Max etc to make some pennies... so the card has obviously gotta be suitable for rendering 3D environments....
At home, I'm switchin to a desktop from a notebook (inspiron 9100) and that ran AutoCad etc quite nicely with a mobility radeon 9800... so I suppose what I'm asking is which would you pick?? Or should I stretch my budget a bit more and go for the 8800??
My machine in work is an absolute monster fujitsu siemens workstation and it eats all of the above software for breakfast... but I dont have £3K to spend!
This is not a 'spec me a machine' post - just some advice would be gratefully appreciated!
Thanks y'all...
