Is there any way to wack up the clocks in Vista x32?

Im really trying to use Vista as my main OS but am put off by the lack of a decent programs to overclock my 7900GTO. It will run perfectly at 720/830 which is a big jump from the default clocks in Windows XP using any program.

Riva tuner, does not give me the option to overclock. Missing most of the tabs within the program.

Coolbits, Can't even see it within the control panel.

NTune, Useless. Every time I scan for the highest clocks, it sets the at much lower than stock!?

Power Strip Everytime I set the clocks, the screen goes black then puts me back to default clocks.

Sorry if this has been posted before, I did a search ;)

EDIT : Using latest drivers.

Download NvFlash v5.5 and NiBiTor v3.2.

Use NvFlash to get a copy of your cards BIOS and NiBiTor to amend the clock speeds then use NvFlash to load your amended BIOS. Permanent solution, no need for 3rd party overclocking tools running in the background, job done.

Check out www.mvktech.net for more details.

Many thanks for that.

I heard that you could flash the Bios's a while back, never got round to looking into it.

:)

No probs, spent most of Sunday flashing and reflashing my 6800GT, you'll need to run NVFlash in DOS, I booted up with a XP Boot Floppy and had NVFlash on a seperate floppy.

nvflash -b 7900.rom will save your bios to a file called 7900.rom which you can then edit in Windows using NiBiTor. Probably an idea to call the modded bios something different so you keep the genuine one just in case. Copy the modded bios to your NVFlash floppy and nvflash xxxxxxxx.rom will load the new bios on (where xxxxxxxxx is the name of your modded bios).
