NVIDIA P102-100

Looks more like it's been designed for reduced mining performance without impacting gaming too much, that or they just did a really bad job of making a mining card lol.

Will less than half the ram(the “full fat” 1080ti has 11gb unless I’m mistaken) have a major affect on 4K gaming performance?
And will we really get it for $599 and not like $1000 like the current 1080ti?

Is this available to buy now??? I have built a microITX VR PC for the living room out of second hand components and a cheap motherboard, just need a GPU now...

5GB GDDRX ain't enough for gaming, and if anyone says otherwise, be prepared to delete your anti FuryX comments.....
There is 1080Ti mini which is full blown card, and also there is an even smaller 1080, and 1070.

I dunno, my 3.5GB 970 is still a great card at 1080p. As I have no intentions of going 4k, and ram prices are silly at the moment, if a 5GB 1080ti came out at the right price, I'd snap it up.

That is certainly a strange card. full 1080ti with 5GB memory.
It's not "that" strange from a gaming POV, historically speaking many cards came in two memory sizes, so seeing it return would just mean the market for it has returned. Thinking about it there are probably a lot of people out there who won't get any bonus from 11GB over 5.5GB during the ownership of the card but still need all the brute force they can get (I.E 1080p 240Hz gamers trying to get every extra FPS they can).

It's a moot point however as this seems to be a mining oriented card.

The 1080 and 1070 are over priced, if this is basically 1080ti with less VRAM for $599, then this makes it a very viable card. 5gb is enough for me, My 4gb r9 290 is fine in VR games and at 1080p
