I'm still on a q6600 with a p5k-e wifi motherboard and a ati 4870 and its about time i did some upgrading.

Am i able to run a nvidia card on this motherboard because its a xfire motherboard, if i can, would the speed of the pci express slot limit the speed of the nvidia card much. I'm think of doing some 3D gaming thats why i wanna jump to nvidia and on my ati card i am able to run 2 displays off this ati card at once is this possible with a nvidia card. atm i have a pc monitor as main windows 7 display and on the second dvi port of the ati card i have my sony tv plugged into it.

yea you can run ONE nvidia card on the board, check the specs on the official website, but if it doesn't state sli, then you can't use two or more nvidia cards on the board. but one will be fine!

Doesn't really say much about spec of the pci express slot all it says "supports CrossFire Technology"

2 x PCIe x16 (blue @ x16 mode, black @ x4 or x1 mode) supports CrossFire Technology
2 x PCIe x1
3 x PCI

It definately doesn't support SLI but you'll be fine with a single Nvidia card.

Although it supports CrossFire it's not the best board for it as the second x16 slot only runs at x4 speed which can be a bottleneck.

A single GPU Nvidia card will run 2 displays but no more than that.
