nvidia physx question ?

There is a few FPS improvement using say a GTX260 and a 9800GT to do just the PhysX. The Cryostasis benchmark review shows 43fps~ vs 32~ average when using a GTX260 with a 9800GT to do physx and when used alone.

I'd like to know though, does that mean I can use a 9800GT on my AMD Crossfire mobo (Asus P5KC) ?

This is interesting. Is there any point to me using my old 8800GTS 320 for PhysX with my 280GTX? How does the software know which card to use?

Thanks

in Nvidia CPL you choose which card does the PhysX :)

I tried my 8800gtx under my 280gtx and there was very minimal extra fps even on physx benchies. Not worth bothering about IMO, the 260/280 handles physx pretty well on their own.

Was just thinking actually, my XonarD2X would be blocking the second PCI Express slot anyway if I got a 8800GTS class card so I suppose it's out of the question anyway!

Will it do Physx if the main card is an ATI one?

ps3ud0

dont know about that one when u install Cryostasis u have to install nvidia physx drivers.

i could have check but 8800gts is to fat to fit in second slot. water cooling is in the way

how ever playing Cryostasis on ati card u cant play on shader 4.0 because there is graphics corruptions, probably were physx comes in play.

I expect it doesnt work, but technically theres no reason why it shouldnt...

I guess the OS (or moreso the GFX drivers) arent expecting to be installed and effective at the same time...
