"Nvidia is expected to present the new graphics card in a gaming event in Montreal, which takes place on 16-17 October. "

290X and now Nvidia has new upcoming cards, one thing is for sure... This is going to be an expensive month for Kaapstad.

:D

So this card is either going to be a Titan Ultra or a 770TI, filling the gap between the 770 and the 780? The 770TI seems to make more sense. I was under the impression that a full titan wouldn't add much more than a few percent extra performance over the current titan. Please correct me if im wrong.

how much memory it'll have will be the key one for me

2gb just doesn't "feel" enough now

and the premium you pay for the 4gb varients doesn't really seem that justify

I think they are implying that their will be a few new GPU's, GTX 750 ti, GTX 770 ti and GTX Titan Ultra.

The Titan Ultra Ultra could be the full enabled 2888 core part that's being mentioned now and again on different sites. If clocked well, it could be a fair jump in performance over the current Titan and mean Nvidia retain the performance crown, although I'm sure it'll be priced out of most people's reach, so AMD will likely have the performance VS price offerings.

For me the 780 is currently the fastest consumer single gpu, most likely to be over taken by the R290X this month, Titan belongs in the land of the Ares and Mars cards.

No. I came to my conclusion because the 20nm are due next year.. what is the point? There is no point tbh...

The titan and new amd card will be around the same.. what's the point in flogging a dead horse?

Because when you have the flagship 'fastest GPU crown', it creates like a rainbow effect in subconscious marketing, people will think, 'Nvidia have the fastest GPU's' and then feel better about buying into Nvidia at say the midrange that they can afford.

So just having that crown is a way of advertising. The 'Titan' worked very well for Nvidia. So it is very possible that Nvidia could do this again, 20nm is still a ways off, a new flagship now would take some of the attention away from AMD and Nvidia would retain the crown.

But if they can get all 16 smx units working with a tidy clock, it makes sense for them to release it. I doubt they can in honesty as Titans are pretty hot as they are but I am not a technician and wouldn't know where to start.

One last push before 20nm seems viable and it wouldn't be aimed at price per performance customers.
