Nvidia preparing new Geforce with GK110

I see where he got it from, Nvidia.

Ouch. Looks like some games don't work well with it at all.

Just a guess but I'm assuming it's legacy stuff and certain games that limit FPS by default without any form of V-Sync. Might be just a case of it doesn't work well out of the box in those games. There are always exceptions

Depends how many games. If they've put it in the FAQ im guessing it affects some rather big titles, most likely recent ones rather than old games no one plays anymore. Would be a kick in the nads to spend all that money on a monitor and or a separate gsync unit only to find out it doesn't work at all on the games you want.

You can turn triple buffering off in the control panel though? The only reason you would turn it on is for opengl games?

Agreed. I do this in Bf3 to reduce most of the input lag from vsync, then you limit the fps 1 below 60 for maximum effect.

I have asked on the Geforce site and hopefully someone from Nvidia will explain what games they have found to not work. It may be a case of working like SLI profiles. A game gets released and doesn't have an SLI profile immediately but the next drivers has one, so the same could be for G-Sync.

You keep nabbing the price but the fact is it costs **** all Matt lol.

Pricing for the do-it-yourself kit is $175 and the price of the ASUS monitor with the G-SYNC module is $399.

Anand said eventually Nvidia hope to get the pricing below $100, but who knows when and if that will happen.

£108 for the gsync unit is not what i would call cheap for something that might not work with the games i want. I would need more reassurance personally before i thought about investing in something like that.

According to the FAQ they disable it via the driver if the game doesn't like it so i don't think its anything like SLI profiles.

I would like someone to run the Tomb Raider bench please. I did this at 1440P and got 41 min 52 avg and 64 max. That should look nice and smooth but when you study it, you see all sorts of image problems and slight stutter. I am pretty sure anyone who loves AMD doesn't get this but for those who have an interest, it would be useful to see if you get the same. You do have to pay attention and looking at the rocks was the best way for me to see it.

I don't see a ton as a lost investment. If you're not happy sell the panel after install, sell up and let someone else who's not worried about their huge investment deal with it lol.

I'm imagining most people will be buying the panels off the shelves and not the module kit on it's own anyway. I think you're being a tad intentionally obtuse with this.

What games do you want Matt? Let me guess not a single one that has any affiliation with nvidia?

Are you offering me free games? If so ill take Splinter Cell Conviction please. :D

I have a few Nvidia titles, not sure what has to do with anything though. Both the metro games, aliens colonial marines, resident evil 5 and 6 and probably others in my steam library which im not sure about.

I will run it now. What settings do you want me to use?

Not everyone sees it that way Frosty, just because you do. Not everyone is going to want to replace their current monitor. A lot of people will just look to buy the unit themselves and fit it to their current monitor, assuming its supported.

The only way of convincing some people Greg would be to have them use gsync in real life side by side like nvidia showed. I can quite clearly see the difference on an average quality camera recording at 30fps, so no wonder the guys at the event were blown away. Even then you'd still get people who swore there was no difference because they don't want to believe it.

Look in the other thread lol, Flopper saying those devs were paid to speak highly of it, the guy in the middle is the BF4 technical director who's been working closely on Mantle in that 8 million dollar deal. Some people only want a one sided view on it instead of looking at the big picture.

I think it will need to be seen on today's current games to be honest. Then im sure it will get the praise it deserves. The proof will be in the pudding so to speak. Its all fine and well looking at specially prepared tech demos and presentation slides. What we need to see is hands on experience using the latest games. Also what we need to see is how many games it doesn't work with.

The same can no doubt be said for Mantle as well.

Well at least you have a sensible view on it all. The other day was just hilarious when people were writing gsync off and saying Mantle was the game changer. At times I don't think people put any thought into what they post they just let brand loyalty take over.
