Need some help on this one please!

Just had a download session consiting of, FW91.82 drivers, PureVideo Trail, WMP11, and Supreme Commander HD Trailer.

However, the Trailer will playback only a little bit then stop and a message appears saying it can't be played back... blah blah... might not support the codec.

I have a look on the FAQ for the PureVideo Decoder and the icon is showing on the toolbar on the bottom of my screen when I load .mpeg movies as it should, and the codec is set as the prefered codec for the entire system as varified by the WindowsXP Decoder Utility. :(

So how come I can't play and HD stuff? The player bundled with the codec can't even find the movie when I browse to the folder?

Any ideas pleeeasee!! Thanks!

The wrong codec is getting loaded up. I had this issue when i upgraded also, if you play the HD movie and look at the properties it will tell you what codec is being used. In my case i paused the movie as soon as it started, but you may still be able to get the properties after the "error message" your getting.

Anyway it turned out that it was loading the correct Video codec for the MP4-AVC stream, but the audio codec it was loading was intervideos (from my windvd install), and thats what was causing the issue. In the end i just unregistered the intervideo audio driver from my system and everything worked fine :)

Hmm, thanks, how would I do that or similar on mine? In device manager?

Well if it really is intervideos audio codec (you should test it to be sure) then press the start button on windows, hit run and paste the following into the run box.

Code:
regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\intervideo\common\bin\iviaudio.ax"

to re-register the codec so that windows can use it again do the same but type

Code:
regsvr32 "c:\program files\intervideo\common\bin\iviaudio.ax"

why use purevideo? i dont have it installed in Vista Beta 2, played Supreme commander HD trailer perfectly fine on WMP11 with beta Go 7800GTX driver

I'm guessing that just played but wasn't in High Def then?
