my friend is selling a used one of these for £150 he showed me it working in his gaming rig and it seems perfect. though when i checked the prices online they are insane:S and i dont understand why. Any1 care to shed some light.

unless he cosmetically modified the casing and so on so it looks identical to the ones ive looked up lol. its a real card yes im just stunned as to why it costs so much.

Well if you bothered to google the name you would see it's a professional card, if you put quadro into wikipedia it would tell you that the drivers are specially written and validated for professional applications.

It's done for professional rendering or modelling or something along those lines I think. It's not meant to be a gaming card, and if he bought it for gaming just because it was the most expensive card he could find, then he's a fool.

so if i bought it for 150 i could make some money of it? because i know i dont want it myself. i did Google it i just didn't believe it.

touch and go on selling professional models on the 2nd hand market most companies budget for new ones, these go to the select few who require this no where near the broad appeal of gaming cards id hazrd a guess at less then 5% of that market, personally id steer clear, it has the potential to go both ways either fly or bomb and looking at the sheer volume of professional cards on the 2nd hand market id guess the latter.
