Nvidia readies GTX950SE

Looks like its will be the replacement for the GTX750TI and GTX750:

Its based on the GM206 so will have HD265 decoding too.

The GTX750 and GTX750TI are now EOL,so its meant to replace those cards under £100. The GTX950SE also should be bus powered and support all the newer media features that Maxwell 2 supports,so should also make it the cheapest card with H265 support for an older media box.

Maybe for us as higher end gamers Simon but these low end cards still seem to sell well if you believe Gibbo.

For HTPC's and low end gaming they do a stellar job.

Wouldn't this replace the normal GTX 950? I thought the 750TI was EOL since late last year?

Yeah these are staple cards for the OEM retail boxed PC's that people buy who dont know any better.

I remember someone saying "pipe-cleaner" prpducts like this serve to use up wafers on a fab (am I using the right words?) before they push through new cards. Maybe?

Maybe Nvidia have quite a few defective GM206 dies now,so once they finished off the orders for the GM107 it might be cheaper to use the faulty chips now??
