Only recently upgraded to from a very old 980ti to a new PC with a 4090. Noticed that having these two settings enabled introduces loads of microstutter in games. Turning off and it's instantly smoother. Is this how it should be or is something really weird going on as it seems odd to disable a feature so to speak for better results.

Thanks!

I don't get micro-stutter with them. I do, however, get some noticeable artifacting, particularly when combining them with DLSS upscaling. There's also some input lag, which will be particularly noticeable when using them to hit 60fps in a particularly demanding game (e.g. maxed out Alan Wake 2), but less so when using it to get to 120fps.

I had fg frames stutter in witcher 3. To get rid I would have to change from full screen to windowed mode and back again. Also I would get screen tear so had to force vsync on. I've not seen it happen much, outside of witcher 3 for me. Maybe worth a try.

i use fg and reflex and have literally 0 issues, exploit protection has caused most of my issues with games unless its traversal stutter which is a game issue

Strange. I only found this as it was a recommendation to remove stutters when panning the camera in Horizon Forbidden West. FPS was fine but really noticeable judder which was ruining it for me. Eventually found a recommendation to turn both of these off and it was instantly stopped all stutter/judder.

It’s got to be game related as have it on for Ghost of Tsushima and Cyberpunk for eg and it’s fine but finding it’s causing issues in the majority of games I try.
