Nvidia Restricted Drivers

Hi there,

I installed the nvideo restricted drivers but when I reboot I get a white screen with a blue bar down the middle of the page...completely white, cannot see the login page.

I login (blindly), but typing the username...[enter]...password...[enter] and it logs-in (can here the sound)....but it's still the same.

Ubuntu 8.04 + 8600GTm.

Any ideas?

reboot

At grub select recover
When it does its thing .. select Xserver... Then select boot as normal.. should get back where you were.

How do I go about getting NVIDIA drivers to install properly then?

you could try envy

sudo apt-get install envyng-gtk
