The 4080 Super at £995 was released this year. Also the Pound was tanking when the 40 series launched. I don't think we're in a worse spot now than back then. :)

I love the optimism. I think they learned little or cared not going back to the unlaunched debacle, the 5080 will be £1200 and the 5070ti (staying launched) will be £800 is my assumption.

4090 performance from the 5080 with less VRAM at around £1k would be ok, though I'd hope for a little extra power. I worry it'll be about £1200 though, with little movement on the price/performance scale.

I'm getting a nice little bonus in January so will almost certainly be getting one, though I'll be using my CC to get it initially (the one negative on my credit rating is the lack of one, I'm too careful with my money apparently!). A 5090 would be nice, but the fact the price difference between the two looks like it would be enough for a full platform upgrade means I'd rather consider the latter option to give my daughter her first PC.

Based on the numbers floating about, it's looking like the 5070ti (is going to be an only slightly cut down 5080), otherwise you may as well go the whole hog and get a 5090. The 5080 is looking like it's going to be in a really weird spot sandwiched between those two.

Hmm, next week can't come soon enough!

I just can't justify the 5090 if the difference is significant enough to build a new system, so if there is only a small gap the 5070 Ti will be one to consider.
