NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

Yeah that's what I have. One of those ones where you stick the hose out the window. Best £250 I've ever spent. Proper AC would be even better, I'm probably going to get that installed at some point, at least in the entertainment room.
Oh i agree. I hate summer and couldn’t live without it now. But it just adds evem more cost if you need it on just to game :D

5090, 600w, gonna be loud and hot.
Likely to end up a huge issue for many
these kind of watts really needs watercooling as standard.
If not watercooling, what PC case favors GPU exhaust not heating up the case interior? I know many cases give GPUs cold intake, but this is on a different scale now. I would like those 575W to be exhausted as soon as possible
LianLi SUP-01 comes to mind, at least half of exhaust has a short path

Thought I'd give Indy Jones a go with native 4k full path-tracing for the sake of giving myself some insight when it comes to benching the 5090:

As a follow up to this, I had a play around with sensible settings and it’s definitely possible to enjoy this game without having the latest and greatest card. I could hit decent fps quite comfortably with few compromises.

I think that means: don’t fomo yourself into a shiny card, it’s really not necessary to enjoy games, even those that are ‘notoriously insane to run when maxed out’.

You can't really call it 'enjoying the game' though if the light that lands on Indy's hat hasn't bounced off of 18 trees, 7 fascists, 4 croissants and a monkey beforehand though.

Honestly some people have zero standards.

Woah woah woah, those settings were kept on max - I can’t be enjoying no almond croissant without the shadows from the flaked almonds being pristine against the powdered sugar.

Has anyone posted the link how Nvidia admitted MFG may come to the 40 series, in theory it could even come to the 30 series!

So not much point if that's the case going from a 4080 to a 5080, it's almost like I've got a what? 5080D?

I think we can be expecting the 60 series in the next year given the lack of uplift and ,possibility of MFG brought to 40 series.

It’s refreshing to see how many raycelibates there are on here.

Anyone anti path-tracing belongs in a museum. Once I buy all of this ludicrously expensive kit for maximum croissant details, I’ll be sharing my FPS in here and everyone will be saying “he chose…… wisely.”

Then, I’ll be setting the brightness of my new LG G5 TV on the highest setting possible - >2000 nits - with HDR on… living life to the max:

My eyeeeeeesssss!
