NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

Can't believe people are excited to buy 5070ti for what one could have bought a 4080 super for a few months ago (and almost MSRP for 5080).

RIP 6000 series. Nvidia will certainly be setting MSRP even higher now that they've seen people are willing to pay it.

Life is short. Options are limited. I need 60fps minimum and I need it now.
Sure, but everything about Nvidia's strategy makes me want to give them LESS of my money.

I'd go up to maybe £1500 for a GPU but the only card that isn't horrible value or a fire risk is a base model RRP 5070ti for £750.

I don't think anyone is excited about it. Buying a new GPU now feels more like your car needing 4 new tyres.

Nah... I think it's more to do with the thrill of low supply and knowing that you're amongst a very small cohort of owners who have a card that no one else can attain :o

I'm actually considering not opening mine and placing it in the trophy cabinet

Well after being unlucky enough to have a Gaming TRio affected by the ROPS issue and having it in writing from MSI that they would replace the card they have now gone back on it and said i will have to get a full refund from the original shop as they have no cards for RMA replacments

Do not think i will be using MSI again and now back to the notifications for new stock
Sorry to hear that. Perhaps for the best in the long run. I’ve received more notifications today than any other day, with the most appealing being a Gigabyte 5090 Gaming OC for £2350. Asus Tuf 5090 was £2700. So more variety coming through now it seems.

I was out allmorning so i think i missed a few, hiome most of tomorrow though so will be ready

I expect soon enough the amount of people willing to pay £1K for a 5070TI (crazy) or just silly money for anything higher will start to dwindle.
AMD’s 9070XT (if reviews are good & price is realistic) will help lessen demand for the 5070Ti or even worse over priced 5080s.
So probably worth waiting a couple of months if you can to save a couple hundred £ at least.
So regretting not getting a reasonably priced 4080S when they were available. This whole 50 series is a generational disappointment.

Meh. It won't be the first thing I've ever bought that's horrible value. I bought a pg35vq for nearly 3 grand once.

5080 VS 4080 (4080 is the bigger card) - Now my wife can have her 4080 back!

Wish me luck I get all the rops on my 5070ti

Don’t tempt fate or there will just be a note in your box with your card:

Hi mystery person - I’ve taken your ROPS to perpetuate my status as forum villain. Mwahahahah! Yours sincerely, @Hostile_18

… and you won’t even know what to be more annoyed at; the missing ROPS or the imperfect salutation.
