NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

Well my Astral has all its ROPS yay

The power draw on default is right on the limits though. Any pushing of the power limit is a definate no go.

Dropping the power target to 90% however looks much happier.

It looks like it's just PIN 2 that's the problem. Are you going to try a different cable?

Dropping the power target will lose performance, why not undervolt/OC instead?

why do people prefer the FE edition of GPU's rather than aftermarket cards, aftermarket cards have better better cooling, but looking on the bay people are demanding 3200 for somthing that is 2 grand

Can't wait to read 9070 review from Userbenchmark.

Few Userbenchmark's AMD quotes:

"watch out for AMD’s army of Neanderthal social media accounts on reddit, forums and youtube, they will be singing their own praises as usual. AMD continue to develop “Advanced Marketing” relationships with select youtubers with the obvious aim of compensating for second tier products with first tier marketing"
"First time buyers tempted to consider the RX 7600 by AMD’s army of Advanced Marketing scammers (youtube, reddit, twitter, forums etc.)"
"AMD’s 7800X3D and 9800X3D CPUs, priced over $400 USD, are widely marketed as “the best gaming CPUs in the world”... Under cherry-picked cache-bound conditions the X3D chips do excel... Nevertheless, the 13600K still deliver almost unparalleled real-world gaming performance for around $200 USD"

5080 scalpn has pretty much ended, I think a couple of big 5090 drops will end the 5090 scalpn very quickly
The 5090 isn’t even worth it at the MSRP, it’s only the artificial scarcity that’s panicking people with FOMO into paying well above so I can’t imagine they will keep selling way over 2k for long unless Nvidia can maintain barely any supply.

3xxx series launch has just entered the chat (when nvidia were found to be selling directly to crypto farms in bulk. I am not talking about some miner in their basement with 30 cards. I am talking and hundreds and thousands):

Hold mah beer!

This launch and generation of Nvidia cards is just shocking. The 6 series is going to be interesting. The price, performance, cable and availability. I think a lot of it depends on which way and how adopted/enshrined AI becomes.

Nope, not happy with the power distribution - there's still a 2.5 to 3 Amp differential across the power lines

I would keep a fire extinguisher on standby :D
