NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

5070 performance = 4070 Super +5% more peformance ( or basically a 4070Ti with less VRAM )

So much for "4090" performance Mr Jensen :D ... man what a disgustingly disappointing launch the 5000 series has been. Hopefully AMD's launch ends up being a saving grace, if so I'll likely get the 9070XT and go AMD for the first time since ATI was bought out by AMD :D

All you need is a qtec gold with a intel 149300f and nvidia 5090 crossfire system and you're set

I expect there's a perfectly adequate reason for it, but something that occurred to me when watching the HUB review,
was why is the comparison between the 5070 and 4070 Super, rather than the bog-standard 4070?

I think core/memory config is more similar between the 2 and possibly pricing too?

Regardless, the 5070 is an absolute lemon at this point compared to previous gen.

Anyone upgrading to a 5070, here's something from another thread...

The won't be any 5070s to upgrade to, Nvidia can't even be bothered to launch the FE tomorrow.

Yeah, off the top of my head, this looks to be one of the most disappointing releases I've ever seen.

Tinfoil hat time (on my part)... they don't want to send ROP deficient FE cards into the channel but can't or don't want to stop AIB partners from doing so because otherwise it would actually be a paper launch for the 5070 line.

Wow I feel so fortunate to be alive during the historic release of the 50 series! This is stuff for the history books! It's going to be talked about for years and years to come, for all the wrong reasons, and I was here to witness it!

It is so disgraceful this is even allowed to happen. With all the mess with connectors, to cards not to spec as the chips are bad on them to the silly prices... and now to add to it a 5070 that is basically last gens card with DLSS4 multi frame rubbish to make it different. Meeh comedy gold from Nvidia they should be embarrassed .. Disgusting really..

Anyways better things to worry about than graphics cards from such a company.

All those idiots who believed ngreedia's lies about the 5070 being as fast as a 4090. Where are they now?

Nvidia should be taken to court for such lies they make and shocked they have not been sued for it yet as these lies are getting bigger and bigger every generation now.. It's nothing new from Nvidia and nothing more than false advertising which they have been doing for decades now..

Wow not seen such universal hate for a FXcard in a long time, well deserved but no doubt it will still sell like hotcakes cause its nvidia.

I can't see how MFG wasn't just a modest software iteration over regular FG. You're telling me you can interpolate a single frame but to do 2, 3, or X it needs new hardware? Seems to me like it was deliberately held back to bolster a later generation of GPUs.

I've been following tech pretty closely since 2004. I think the 5070 might be the worst (non-rebadge) GPU product to ever have been launched.

Obviously it will sell because people still need graphics cards.
