NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

It’s only a problem because Nvidia did this without actually letting people know they were doing it. Saying it’s a nothing burger fails to address the actual issue of Nvidia being Nvidia.

I doubt only a handful would care if they were upfront about.

I beg to differ: I play older games like Borderlands 2 so the lack of 32 bit PhysX is significant for me. But i thought their testing was quite poor: they should have put the PhysX GPU in a x4 slot, because that’s what most people have.
That's fair enough, but I get the impression that you're in a big minority that they're not really bothered about. I'm not saying that's right, but I think that's their thinking.

Nobody can address that issue but Nvidia themselves and we all know how much chance there is of that..

Just 5090 right? Or 5080 too?
Looks like 5090 only - had a stock check site open and an api thing. The api must have failed as when the site pinged it was already all gone. The api then showed it was in stock 7m before I knew anything about it. Which might as well be 7hrs.
Really is a paper launch - few on launch day and 2 tiny drops since. 30 series was just a battle against the miners/bots. This time there just aren't any cards.

Probably for the best given all the issues and price - but still, I've committed and bought all the other bits now!

It's that theres no fix for these older games like if they rolled out a longterm patch that would redirect the physx calculations to the new fancy multi threaded cpu physx they have now that wasn't purposely kneecapped it would be fine but as they havn't it ruins those features

For all it really adds, just run the game without like every other AMD user.
