NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

Same core count but increased memory, given the price of memory, seems odd. Anything above the 5070 has enough memory for this gen I think. A 5080 Ti for same price as the current 5080 but close(r) in performance to the 5090 is what'd get gamers excited I think.

They have learned nothing and now coming to motherboards. These tiny thin wired connectors. :rolleyes: They had V1 and V2 but ended up on OEM prebuilds like Dell and didn't make it to mainstream motherboards, but now maybe..

I'm curious as to how much memory they must be sitting on if they're willing to go ahead with the supers. Doesn't make much sense cutting into their profits like that when everything already sells, but I guess these will come with massive price hikes.

It will just be another way to hike prices and pretend to help gamers.. You know just incase they need us when the A.I bubble pops as it will in time.

The refresh is still expected to focus mainly on memory capacity. Earlier rumors listed GeForce RTX 5080 SUPER with 24GB of GDDR7 memory, RTX 5070 Ti SUPER with 24GB, and RTX 5070 SUPER with 18GB. These configurations would rely on 3GB GDDR7 modules instead of the 2GB chips used by current models.

That was the best. Top quality bants.

The 3080 was a beast of a card. £650 I think it was which was less than half the price of a 3090 :cry:

I have had a 4070 Ti and a 5070 Ti since. Never run of vram :D
 
24gb on a 5080/5070ti seems kind of pointless without a performance increase? 16gb is perfect for the performance tier it is in. would prefer more performance with a 5080 super/ti so it would at least beat the 4090. not to mention the price, likely near £1500 for a 5080 24gb? bring on the 6080 :D

more vram on the 5060 and 5070 is nice although depends on the prices.
 
Will the new 'Super' releases push the current 50 series pricing up or down?

I kind of know that it will be up, but a part of me still hopes that the other gpu's in the stack will come down a little bit.

I doubt they have the capacity to produce both versions, so my guess is the old cards would just disappear after awhile and scarce availability and high demand (for high VRAM cards) would push prices up.

Yeah it's funny how i kinda regretted the purchase early last year but by the end I was starting to come around with how much it's gone up. Now I could sell for a profit if I really wanted to but the more likely scenario is I keep this till it dies because better ones will be unaffordable.

Weird one. Card didn't work in the other slot. Tried bios flashing, reseating cpu, ram, flash gpu, clean windows install, ddu multiple times. Sent for rma, was told it is working fine. Received it back today and it is working fine. Tried removing etc in case a fluke and it is still working. Guess ill never know what the issue was.

Well that explains a lot, doesn't it.

'SCAM' have come to a cosy agreement with Nvidia to keep all the FE cards allocated to the UK, so they can keep selling high end pre builds at a profit.

Is there a more rigged, anti consumer market than that of PC Components, on the planet?
