Nvidia sending Titan Z off to knackers yard?

DM won't let NVidia send the Titan Z off to the knackers yard as it is the best value compute card available.:D

Obviously it's a bug. TITAN Black is EOL and Maxwell has no DP capabilities. What are people smoking. There is literally no reason for NV to do this. Well, worthwhile reason. I'm sure certain individuals could concoct a reason from the secret base at Armchair Corp

Chances of this being a bug are practically nil IMO. It will be intentional.

I suspect NVIDIA are gauging potential backlash, because they want to cripple it / other non-GM-non-Quadro cards' DP to make GM look less bad in this respect.

Even with their history of hare-brained schemes to screw the consumer and maximise profit they'd be mad to do it ... iirc, the Titan Z (and vanilla) specifically championed DP in their marketing stuff, in a departure from non-Quadro cards previously. They'd practically be begging for a(nother) class action lawsuit.

And in other news :-

Hamster eats dog.

Putin to stand for liberal democrats in election.

Tin foil hats in short supply as demonstrators head for Nvidia HQ

;)

Tbh Titan Z was kind of a non entity you could call it a gimmick of a video card release since Nvidia didn't both sending any samples out to reviewers and never hyped up the release.

It came, We saw, It went.
