NVIDIA Shadowplay alternative for AMD

Short answer no amd does not have anything comparable to shadowplay (and talking about somthing that has been talked about for years and isnt even in alpha is just silly).

But the good news is there is quite a few free ones and cheap ones that offer near shadowplay performance hits.

Agreed. The Raptr version that AMD use isn't bad but 1080P 60fps is quite limiting and doesn't record all games. I found DXTory was great for AMD but ShadowPlay is seriously good stuff and I would buy an Nvidia card purely for what ShadowPlay does.

Most of the top streamers/content creators use a capture card installed in a separate PC, which handles all the x264 encoding etc, placing ZERO extra load on the PC that's actually running the game.

That's the best way to do it, regardless of if you have a AMD or nvidia GPU.

ding ding this is correct

which I plan on doing at some point. Raptr would be closest to shadowplay. Some compatiblity with some games when they are first released; but normally fixed within a day.

If I can't record in raptr I use afterburner....but I plan on getting a capture card soon for recording...

Raptr is terrible at the moment. It doesn't record any new games until they have been put on the support list. By then much time has passed and no point in recording videos for Youtube for said game.

Couldn't you use Quicksync if your running an Intel cpu to record your games? Using the igpu in this situation would be ideal way of balancing quality footage and performance.

When I play on my 290X I use Action Mirillis, Miles better than Raptr and nearly on par with Shadowplay in terms of performance and quality as it has the option to use either AMD app acceleration or the Nvidia codec plus if you buy it you can add your own watermark to any part of the screen :)

All recorded with ShadowPlay at 1440P and edited with Sony Vegas 11. Love the 2 programs and really got me enjoying recording.
