Hey peeps,
Just wondering when the green side are getting the tech that was basically used as a main selling point for the 7xx series when they were announced? I was really looking forward to having a play about with it and although it may be pointless to most people, was one of the plus points for me when I was deciding to jump from 7970s.

Shame if it doesn't come out but not the end of the world as other recording programs will soon be able to do what nvidia were offering.

We'd like to give everyone an update on ShadowPlay.

Our original plan was to launch a beta of ShadowPlay this summer. Unfortunately we were not able to meet that date. We understand many of you have been eagerly waiting for this feature and we sincerely apologize for the delay.

ShadowPlay was originally designed to output video files in M2TS format. During the course of our testing, we found that this format did not work robustly with various popular players. We are now in the process of moving over to MP4 as the container format. We expect this transition to be complete fairly soon.

We are very excited about ShadowPlay and look forward to sharing this new feature with you soon.

Basically Windows Media Player screws up playback so the're changing the format.

Shame this has been delayed. I got a 670 recently and wanted to try this shadowplay stuff as its supported on this compared to the 570 i had.

Think shadowplay is GK110 only.

Shadowplay Beta launches 28th Oct - Link

Niice

The 4GB file size limit is a bit annoying though. Maybe it is time I update to 8, been meaning to for ages

I thought that 4GB filesize limit was only if you used FAT32. NTFS supports up to 16TB per file.. (On 64-bit Windows ofc).

Someone still does not understand OS basics, as fraps can record over 4GB just fine.

Shadowy records 20 minutes of gameplay and hits around 2% performance. Not sure about file sizes/formats but I am proper looking forward to it.

The 20 minutes is just Shadowplay's equivalent to FRAPS' Loop Buffer ability (up to 16 minutes I think).

Effectively, in this case, the recorder is constantly 20 minutes behind your current play activity; the saved file playback will start from what you were doing 20 minutes ago.

That's pretty cool then. If I am having a sweet game, hit record and it will have got me playing for the last 20 minutes....That, I do like the sound of :)

Yeah its nice u can either do a constant last 20-30 mins recording which keep file sizes low or do the whole hog and record ur entire session.

Hey guys, can anyone comment on the general usability of shadowplay in none Nvidia games? I think I read on the Geforce forums a while ago that its only available for TWIMTBP games? If so thats a HUGE letdown for me
