NVIDIA Shield 8" Tablet

It's actually a really intriguing proposition at the price. The streaming feature is a unique USP I'd love to try. I already own a Google Nexus 7 so can't really justify but will keep an eye on reviews.

Also I'm surprised the pad doesn't come with an adaptor to hold the tablet to try and maintain some semblance of the original Shield form factor.

Not convinced going with Android was the best move in the long run given (desktop) Windows 8 is now feasible on an 8" tablet and pretty decent CPU/memory wise just lacking GPU wise where the Kepler cores would have been great.

I guess Windows 8 doesn't really have the ecosystem and Android being more mainstream in the context doesn't make W8 attractive at the moment though :|

" Plus, it's the first mobile processor to run Unreal Engine 4, Epic's latest game engine for powering next-gen games." - must have been imagining running the UE4 dev demos on my encore 8 heh.

That 192 core kepler GPU would have been epic running on Win 8.1. It's going to go largely to waste on Android. Graphics may look good and all, but every Android game I've played seems to have as much depth as an inflatable paddling pool.

I wonder how feasible a tablet with the K1 gpu and a baytrail processor would be.
